X-Force Film Needs To Be ‘Raunchier’ Deadpool Writers Say

This ain’t no Mickey Mouse school for the gifted, or at least not yet.

Deadpool 2 was no doubt a massive success with a sequel already being lit and a spin-off X-Force film to be in the works later this year.  However, some things would be changing in regards to the anticipated spin-off as writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick would be stepping away from it,

However, the writing duo still has some thoughts on how i should go. Speaking with CBR, the writers expressed the creative processes of writing the film and also gave some thoughts on the future of the characters in the X-Force. One half of the duo, Reese stated:

“I think the fun part of X-Force is they’re much more morally flexible than the X-Men. They can get their hands dirty a little bit. There’s more grey area. It’ll be raunchier, it’ll be rated R, I’m sure. We’ll get to see an ensemble movie that’s pushed, hopefully, as far as the Deadpool individual movie was pushed.”

One thing’s for certain, with everything that happened in Deadpool 2, the raunch-factor would no doubt be turned up to eleven. David Leitch would unfortunately not be directing the X-Force film but Drew Goddard is set to be on board for the spin-off and would be writing too.

Goddard has earned praise for his directorial efforts in The Cabin In The Woods, a film that was meta in its own right, fusing comedy and horror perfectly. He is also an Oscar-nominated writer with his work in Ridley Scott’s The Martian. It can be certain that the exploits of Domino and Cable would be just fine in his hands.
