Aquaman: Director James Wan Teases Film’s Trailer Reveal In A Photo

Things are looking good.

There’s a lot riding on the shoulders of the upcoming Aquaman film as it could possibly bring the DCEU back to its feet following the disappointing Justice League film which ended up becoming the lowest grossing film in the franchise. Directed by James Wan with a cast featuring the likes of Jason Momoa as the titular character, Amber Heard as Mera and Patrick Wilson as Ocean Master, it’s safe to say that Aquaman is one of the most anticipated films of the year.

Despite the film’s December release, not much has been seen aside from a few still images featuring the film’s ensemble. However, that’s about to change as its trailer is set to be revealed at San Diego Comic-Con later this week and it seems that Wan is just putting the finishing touches before unveiling it. Wan took to Twitter to give fans a little glimpse of what to expect and what to expect is building up some hype in the process.

The first thing to take notice is Aquaman’s signature three-pronged trident that actually is a trident this time around unlike in Justice League of which Aquaman had a five-pronged ‘trident’. We’re also getting a little of that green and orange scheme commonly associated with Aquaman’s attire, something we haven’t seen in Momoa’s appearances as Arthur Curry.

It’s unsure how Wan will take this as we really haven’t seen enough to properly deduce the direction of the film but he has proven to be a relatively diverse filmmaker (granted, he’s by no means Spielberg). With experience in horror with films like Saw and The Conjuring along with his stint in blockbuster territory with Furious 7, he will likely deliver something for the DCEU to be proud of.
