Aquaman Film Official Story Synopsis Revealed

It’s a simple premise but let’s see how they execute it.

There’s a lot of anticipation surrounding the upcoming Aquaman film with hopes of it being the film to finally bring the DCEU back to its feet following the underwhelming Justice League. Information has been scarce as to the direction of the film but more and more has been revealed to us recently. With the trailer set to be unveiled at San Diego Comic-Con this week along with word of it being like Star Wars underwater, it’s safe to say that the hype is real. Now it looks like the film has a proper synopsis and it’s now giving us a little more insight as to what the film will be doing.

Directed by James Wan and starring Jason Momoa, Amber Heard, Willem Dafoe, Patrick Wilson along with Nicole Kidman, the film is garnering plenty of anticipation from fans. The official Aquaman synopsis was posted on the the film’s website and it seems like it’ll be going a very Shakespearean route in terms of its story. It writes:

“From Warner Bros. Pictures and director James Wan comes an action-packed adventure that spans the vast, visually breathtaking underwater world of the seven seas, “Aquaman,” starring Jason Momoa in the title role. The film reveals the origin story of half-human, half-Atlantean Arthur Curry and takes him on the journey of his lifetime—one that will not only force him to face who he really is, but to discover if he is worthy of who he was born to be… a king.”

This isn’t all that much to work with but it does offer a little more to work with. There’s more on the website in regards to cast and crew but it looks like this is the definitive story synopsis that we can focus on. Granted, it does seem a little derivative but a simple premise does not mean a simple film if its execution is proper.

Everything seems to be in place and director James Wan has a lot riding on his shoulders. With films like The Conjuring series and Furious 7 under his belt, seems like there’s not all that much to worry about.. I’m still optimistic albeit a little cautious but we’ll probably get a lot more to work with once the first trailer drops.

Aquaman is set to be released in December 21, 2018
