Michael B. Jordan Expresses Interest In More Creed Sequels

Hopefully we won’t get something like Rocky V.

2015’s Creed really brought the Rocky series back to the limelight and provided Sylvester Stallone an Oscar nomination. Following Adonis, son of Apollo Creed, the film was met with critical acclaim and will see a sequel titled Creed II this year that would also bring a son of another legendary boxer in the series to the forefront. Creed II will see Adonis played by Michael B. Jordan taking on the son of Ivan Drago, Viktor with Stallone back. The first film was directed by Ryan Coogler before he took on Black Panther and the sequel will be directed by Steven Caple Jr.

With Creed II on the horizon, it’s a wonder if there would be plans to really expand the story of Adonis. In other words, milk the s–t out of it till we get something like Rocky V. Well, it looks like Michael B. Jordan is pretty keen on emulating Stallone’s long run in the series.

Speaking to Toronto Sun, Jordan revealed that he’d be interested in making more sequels when asked if Adonis would make a four decade run as long as Rocky has. He said:

“If I’m lucky. I want to keep making them as long as they’re good. I always want to keep my finger on the pulse. Forty two years, I mean, who knows?”

Creed was a great film and Creed II is really looking to deliver something great as well but I won’t lie, it wouldn’t be a surprise if this franchise grows stale. Granted, the Rocky series picked itself back up with Rocky Balboa but it still never reached the heights of the first one. Hopefully Creed II would be able to and then we’ll see if this series is worth exploring further.

Creed II is scheduled to be released on November 21, 2018
