Law And Order: SVU’s Christopher Meloni Tweets About Playing Batman

He’s a little old though.

With Ben Affleck stepping down from the role of Batman, there has been plenty of speculation on who would be taking on the role of the Caped Crusader in Matt Reeves’ upcoming The Batman. Most of it’s just fans putting their two cents on the matter, providing some decent options on who should take on the role but with how things are developing for the upcoming project, we may get some word soon. However, some actors are expressing interest in being part of the project, whether jokingly or not, it’s sometimes hard to say but it looks like this time, Law and Order: SVU star Christopher Meloni is hopping on the wagon too.

Meloni took to Twitter to volunteer himself for the role of Batman as he retweeted a fan’s response on an article from We Got This Covered which suggested that Robert Pattinson (Twilight) was being considered for the role. Check it out below:

Clearly, the fan thinks Meloni would be great and Pattinson would suck but come one, Pattinson has come a long way from his Twilight days. He’s made a name for himself as an actor with films like The Rover and Good Time so cut the dude some slack. Also, Meloni probably wouldn’t get cast and he’s probably just kidding himself since Warner Bros. is reportedly casting a younger actor for the role of Wayne and Meloni is 57 so that would just not work.

We would likely be seeing a younger face as Wayne in The Batman but Warner Bros. may need to handle this properly if they’re looking to avoid any casting criticisms. Criticism almost seems inevitable at this point but Reeves seems to know what he’s doing… I hope.
