Jessica Jones Star And Showrunner Respond To Series Cancellation

Season 3 could be amazing.

Well, that’s all folks! After Iron Fist, Luke Cage and then Daredevil were all cancelled, we thought we still had two other shows to enjoy from Marvel’s Netflix arsenal. That’s not going to be the case as both Punisher and Jessica Jones have now been cancelled and we’re going to be left with a ‘what the f–k?’ look on our faces for a while. Season 2 for Punisher aired not too long ago to ‘alright’ reviews but fans seemed to have dug it but yeah, that’s gone and so is Jones. Granted we’ll still be getting a third season for the latter and that may be some consolation but god, why must the good die young?

Jessica Jones was met with acclaim throughout its two-season run and much like how Daredevil ended up being cancelled, it’s a real bummer. However, we can still hope for the third season to deliver something special as the series showrunner Melissa Rosenberg is promising that for the series finale. Taking to Twitter, Rosenberg expressed gratitude to those involved in the series including star Krysten Ritter and also expressed some confidence on how the series finale will go out. Check out the post below:

To all JJ’s fans and followers, thanks for your support! What an extraordinary rid it’s been! So much gratitude to K Ritter et al. We’ll be going out with a bang for our last 13 eps when they air. Can’t wait for you to see them! Xom

We sure as hell hope so Rosenberg cause that’s all we have for now. Ritter (Jessica Jones) herself took to Instagram to express some love for the series and everyone involved in it. Check out the post below:

Taken a few weeks back at the table read for our SERIES FINALE. I love these people to the moon and back. It has been a dream to play Jessica alongside my amazing cast and the best crew in the business for these past 5 years. I am so grateful for every second of it. We have THE BEST fans. You guys mean the world to me and I appreciate you beyond words. The final season of #JessicaJones is coming later this year and I am proud of how we complete JJ’s journey. I can’t wait for you all to see it. Stay tuned and more to come. 💪🏻🖤 (Also my creator/ showrunner/ partner/ bff @melissa.rosenberg is totally wearing a #krystenknitter original ☺️☺️) @rachaelmaytaylor @ekadarville @carrieannemoss @netflix @marvelsjessicajones @marvel

Damn it Netflix! What now? Granted, we still have some other shows including some comic book adaptations but still… We can’t do much about the cancellation expect hope for Jessica Jones season 3 to deliver something truly spectacular so I guess we can only wait.
