Eminem Reacts to The Punisher Cancellation: ‘You’re Blowing it Netflix!’

Over the past few months, Netflix has been periodically pulling the plug on all their Marvel series.

A couple of days ago, we learned that Netflix has decided to pull the plug on both Jessica Jones and The Punisher. This news may not have come as a massive surprise — after all, over the past few months, Netflix has been periodically pulling the plug on all their Marvel series — but the cancellation of the latter especially, still left fans highly disappointed. One such fan is none other than the rap god himself, Marshall Mathers AKA Eminem.

Eminem took to Twitter to vent his displeasure. Check out his tweet below.

Looks like the rap god is ready to slap Netflix with his mom’s spaghetti. Or maybe he’ll just go full on Kamikaze on the streaming platform.

Both seasons of The Punisher was received extremely well by both fans and critics, so it’s easy to see why a lot of people, including Eminem are unhappy. The exact reason as to why Netflix has cancelled all the Marvel series is still anybody’s guess, as the streaming platform rarely discloses its viewership stats.

In a statement released to Deadline Hollywood Netflix had this to say:

Marvel’s The Punisher will not return for a third season on Netflix. Showrunner Steve Lightfoot, the terrific crew, and the exceptional cast including star Jon Bernthal delivered an acclaimed and compelling series for fans, and we are proud to showcase their work on Netflix for years to come.”

That said, many fans are hopeful that all these shows could end up finding new life on the much awaited Disney streaming service (Disney+), that’s reportedly dropping later this year. Less than 24 hours ago, news broke that Disney is currently developing approximately 16 different TV series for the streaming platform. Could the likes of The Punisher, Daredevil and Jessica Jones be among that 16? Or would these properties’ R-rating not be a good fit for the platform? We’ll just have to wait and see.

The completed third season of the Krysten Ritter starring Jessica Jones will still appear on the streamer before finally bidding adios for good.
