Kevin Feige Says That MCU Characters Are Not Invulnerable

You know who we’re referring to.

Avengers: Endgame will see our heroes taking on the Mad Titan Thanos in what could possibly be the culmination of everything we’ve witnessed in the Marvel Cinematic Universe for a little over a decade. Although we saw a number of our heroes dusted in Infinity War (along with half the cosmos), we would probably see a number of them back along with some MCU newbies. One of those newbies would be Carol Danvers AKA Captain Marvel who, although isn’t really a newbie to the universe itself, she is to film audiences. Danvers is touted as one of the most powerful characters in the MCU but you gotta wonder if she may be a little too overpowered to actually add some stakes to the film.

Early reviews for Captain Marvel point to a great film highlighting Danvers’ potential to actually f–k Thanos up come Endgame. She’s apparently the one who’s gonna destroy his a– in Endgame and with the range of abilities she possesses, it seems likely but as mentioned earlier… is she a bit O.P.? Even Endgame directors Anthony and Joe Russo have highlighted some sense of challenge in tackling Danvers as a character. With this in mind, you gotta wonder if she would actually possess any form of vulnerability that would make her presence far more engaging along with providing a sense of urgency to her actions on screen.

It seems like she may not be all that invulnerable according to Marvel President Kevin Feige. Actually, it seems like none of the characters are actually invulnerable. During a Captain Marvel junket, Screen Rant spoke to Feige on the matter referencing Superman’s O.P. nature in the process, asking him how the MCU would keep the character of Danvers grounded and vulnerable moving forward. To which, Feige explains:

“I think, as with some of the other characters you’ve mentioned, there are no characters — certainly no Marvel characters — that are invulnerable and that are immortal. They can all be killed at some point as Loki says to Thor in Avengers 1. So we may see that at some point, introduce that at some point.”

Captain MarvelYeah… we’ll just see what happens in the films Feige cause that’s going to give us the information we need for the most part. Honestly, even if Danvers is O.P, it could still make for some entertaining action so maybe it’s not such a bad idea to make her the most powerful being in the universe. Actually no, that would not help much in the character’s longevity. They seem to have a big task to pull off, let’s hope they succeed.
