Avengers: Infinity War Scores An ‘A’ On Cinemascore

Marvel can do no wrong.

It seems that everyone is loving the latest installment of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Avengers: Infinity War. Alongside a Certified Fresh 86% on Rotten Tomatoes, the film currently holds an A on Cinemascore.

Infinity War has already raked in about $630 million at the global box-office alongside garnering the biggest box-office opening weekend of all time. Granted, the hype and its predecessors may have a lot to do with it but the score on Rotten Tomatoes would also have alleviated some caution that prompted film-goers to buy a ticket.

Ciemascore randomly selects film-goers from select theaters and notes their opinion as they provide a grade using a standard grade scale (A+ to F). This method is a double-edged sword depending on how you value film reviewers.

In one sense, audiences who have actually seen the film would give a review, unlike certain online aggregated reviews in which anyone can just sign up and provide a score. In another sense, any random person can give their opinion and they could range from the film aficionados to the guy who was forced here cause his kids were bugging him to take them to the new Avengers movie.

Nonetheless, this is great for Infinity War as it maintains its run with fans and audiences, garnering its 15th consecutive A and above rating. It may be a step lower than its predecessor, Black Panther which currently holds an A+ but then again Black Panther has a 96% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes so it’s quite understandable.

This cements the Marvel Cinematic Universe‘s place in the industry and stands as a testament to cinematic entertainment. The film may not be on critics’ radar come Oscar season but it prioritizes its fans and that’s what they aim to do and will likely continually do so.
