These Captain Marvel Set Photos Show Nick Fury With TWO Eyes

A Younger Nick Fury on the set of Captain Marvel.

Spoilers for Avengers: Infinity War ahead.

Many might have seen the post-credit scene at the end of Infinity War but only a few die-hard Marvel aficionados would recognize the symbol on the beacon sent by a dying Nick Fury. No doubt a distress call for one high flying badass cosmic heroin, Captain Marvel played by Brie Larson.

Photos have surfaced recently courtesy of Hollywood Pipeline, revealing that the grizzled commander and the lady powerhouse may have had a long-standing relationship of some sort, perhaps dating farther back before his fateful meeting with Stark in 2008. Based on the fact that the set photos show a suited up Fury (still played by Samuel L. Jackson) without his signature eye patch.

Beyond this being a nice little cameo, this carries huge implications for the MCU and a whirlwind of questions! How long have the two know each other? Have there been cosmic threats to earth long before the Mad Titan descended, namely the shape-shifting aliens, The Skrulls? And if so, are there Skrulls pretending to be humans and heroes among them like in the comics? Is SHIELD hiding this information from the Avengers? Most importantly, are we getting a Secret Invasion movie?

If the footage gives us anything to go on is that Marvel is willing to expand their universe into weirder and grander directions while still grounding it back to the smaller earthbound drama. In truth, only time will tell what the future holds for the MCU. Needless to say, it is a Marvelous time to be a comic-book film fan.
