Cast Of Bond 25 Excited To Work With Danny Boyle

Who wouldn’t be?

Bond 25 is looking to do things right this time around following the mixed reception of Spectre in 2015. With recent confirmation pertaining to Trainspotting and Slumdog Millionaire director Danny Boyle on board, this could be one of the best Bond films in recent memory. Fans aren’t the only ones excited as Ben Whishaw who plays Q, Bond’s gadget specialist is thrilled with the prospect of working with the Oscar-winning director.

Speaking with The Hollywood Reporter, Whishaw expresses excitement with the prospect of working with Boyle at a screening of A Very English Scandal. He clarifies however, that he has yet to hear anything regarding the latest instalment in the long-running franchise. He states:

“I was thrilled when I read that he [Danny Boyle] was going to be doing it. I can’t think of a better, more exciting director for Daniel [Craig], for the way that he’s taken the character. I think it’ll be really exciting to work with him. I’ve been such a big fan.”

Whishaw himself seems like he isn’t entirely sure on the plans for Bond 25 but Craig is no doubt set to return despite claiming he was finished with the franchise. Boyle is no doubt a reputable filmmaker at this point, perhaps in the same league as Paul Thomas Anderson and Quentin Tarantino. His signature editorial style is something to look forward to in a Bond franchise and it’ll be interesting to see how he handles a mainstream action film especially due to his recognition in more comedic and dramatic efforts.

The closest to this undertaking would be 28 Days Later way back in 2002 which was a great post-apocalyptic horror film in its own right. Nonetheless, with cast members this excited, it’s hard for fans not to be.
