Ms. Marvel Looks Like It Will Be More Accurate To Comics

We know what’s next after Captain Marvel.

Captain Marvel will finally introduce Marvel’s first female led film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Marvel has been diversifying the film series as of late with this upcoming film along with the recent Black Panther and it looks like there will be more as Kevin Feige plans to introduce muslim superhero Kamala Khan AKA Ms. Marvel to the MCU. It also looks like he wants to make sure the MCU’s version of the character will be accurate to the comics.

In a tweet, Digital LA revealed some words spoken by Feige at the Production Guild’s 10th annual Produced By conference. He explained that, “We wanted to get Captain Marvel out there first,” he revealed, “so that there is something for a young Muslim girl to get inspired by.

This brief quote may seem well… brief but it does say a lot about how Marvel intends to take the character of Kamala Khan. Kamala Khan is Captain Marvel’s fangirl and is inspired by her. She later gets her powers after undergoing Terrigenesis, activating her Inhuman genes. There will likely be some liberties taken however in regards to the Terrigenesis as Marvel has chosen to pass the Inhumans property to Marvel Television. The Inhumans TV series was a notable disaster, as it received unfavorable reviews and low ratings, eventually being cancelled. A big screen adaptation for the Inhumans doesn’t seem too likely so there’s a huge chance there would be some tweaks in regards to that aspect of the comics.

Captain Marvel will likely introduce this character and chances are, a Ms. Marvel film will only be in the works later on, probably after Avengers 4 (or sometime around its release). Khan is an integral character in Marvel, garnering attention as the first muslim superhero to headline her own comic. It will be great to see a more diverse array of characters in the MCU and it looks like it’ll be one hell of an army in future Avengers films (if there would be more, at least).
