Reddit users can really take things to a whole new level and I don’t mean that in a bad way. Last week , the subreddit r/ThanosDidNothingWrong, announced plans to bans half its users to pay homage Avengers: Infinity War‘s Thanos. Mimicking how Thanos wiped out half the life in the cosmos in an effort to bring balance in the universe, this was an online sensation that prompted many to sign up for the subforum in hopes of participating. As the re-enactment is done, half its users remain in the subreddit whereas the unfortunate half was shipped to a new subreddit dubbed r/inthesoulstone. It looks like they’re taking things much further as Thanos now stands trial at Reddit’s Karma Court (Yes, I know this sounds absurd).
Karma Court is where people in Reddit express their frustrations on various issues that users experience in the forum. Most of these issues are purely for fun and the court serves as a hub for users to discuss their concerns without the risk of being attacked. Hell, they have opening statements and s–t, like a real court. As for the case with Thanos, user Lucas_the_Gamer made a case regarding the actions of the Mad Titan. This is the opening statement:
Greetings, reddit. Let me cut to the chase. I’m sure you’re all aware of a certain purple somebody who’s been making quite a ruckus these past few days. His ultimate goal: To bring balance to the universe. But has he truly? Let’s examine the evidence. Thanos believed the only way to bring balance was to eliminate half the life in the universe. But look at what he has truly done. He’s lead to dozens of bamboozling lawsuits, and hasn’t even succeeded in his goal. What a waste of life. I myself was a victim of the merciless snapping, and I will do anything to give justice to those who have been unwillingly trapped in the cold, lifeless clutches of the soul stone. /r/thanosdidnothingwrong, give me your best shot.
Reddit, you can really keep a bit going. I salute you for this and I doubt we’ve heard the end of this. Huge chance we’ll see this till Marvel’s Phase 4 plans finally kicks off and hell, maybe it won’t even stop. For some this may seem a little confusing and maybe even weird but if these guys are having fun and making the internet a little more interesting, why not?
