Vision Actor Was Given A Fake Script For Infinity War

They went the extra mile to keep things quiet.

The events of Avengers: Infinity War left much of us going ‘what the hell?’ and despite some theories popping up for Avengers 4, fans are still pretty much clueless as to what we’re going to witness in the film. It’s pretty known at this time that Marvel Studios has been pretty hush about things and have been trying their best to keep it that way. It seems that the cast members are just as clueless as fans are in regards to what would happen in Avengers 4. Not only that, the process before the production of Infinity War left the cast members just as clueless and perhaps even a little confused.

In a recent interview with MTV, Pom Klementieff who plays Mantis and Paul Bettany who plays Vision were asked on what they knew about the story for Avengers 4. To that the two revealed that they “know nothing”. This comes as no surprise since the most of the cast performed much of their scenes with little to no context of what they were doing. To make things a little more uncertain for them, both Infinity War and Avengers 4 were shot back-to-back aside from re-shoots. Paul Bettany also revealed how directors Anthony and Joe Russo gave him a fake script for the film. He explains:

“I read the script and then the Russo Brothers rung me up and said, ‘what’d you think?’ I said, ‘oh it’s great’ and they went ‘that’s not the script’ and I went ‘what?’ They went ‘oh it’s got lots of different, it’s got a different ending, it’s got different turns in it, certain people die that don’t die.’ And they said, ‘but we want you to read the real script.”

Well, that seems like a mix up but what Bettany says after sounds like a pretty mean spirited prank. He further discusses:

“Now, I’m dyslexic so it takes me like five hours to read this and then they lock me in a room to read the real script and it’s the same script, so I rung them up and I said ‘um’ and they said, ‘what happened’ I went, and I read ‘Code Red’ or whatever they called it and he said, ‘yeah what do you think.’ I went ‘it was the same script’ and he asked me some questions and then he went ‘aw man they gave you the wrong script again,'”

It’s just a prank bro! Well, there you go, it’s unsure how the fake script goes but it probably helped with much of what Bettany had to do. It’s pretty clear that the two are in the dark about Avengers 4 especially since their characters are dead but it wouldn’t be too much of a surprise if they returned. However, it’s best to keep the mystery looming till then. Granted, it’s a little hard to do so with Tom Holland around since he spoiled a little of what we’re going to explore in Avengers 4 (or did he?).
