Heaven just got three new angels, and by heaven we mean the Charlie’s Angels reboot we’ve been waiting for ever since Drew Barrymore, Lucy Liu and Cameron Diaz hung up their ass-kicking boots. Elizabeth Banks’ Charlie’s Angels reboot finally has revealed the three new Angels in its cast: Kristen Stewart, Naomi Scott, and Ella Balinska.
Deadline reports this via multiple sources. Banks will be playing Bosley in the film, in a gender flip of the classic TV series role.
Stewart was the first of the three eyed for a role. But Scott, who is playing Jasmine in the upcoming live-action Aladdin film, has worked with Banks in the past on the recent Power Rangers film. Balinska is a 21-year-old British actress; this will be her first major film role in the U.S.
Charlie’s Angels will be a big break for Balinska, who has only appeared in two television projects, including an episode of the U.K.’s long-running series Midsomer Murders, as well as the indie film A Modern Tale. She is represented by UTA and Identity Agency Group.
While Banks and Stewart have not commented on the news yet, Balinska and Scott both have. “Excited doesn’t begin to describe it,” Balinska wrote on her Instagram and Instagram story. Scott stuck to emojis as comment.
Sony has its eyes on a September 27th, 2019 release date for the movie.
