Henry Cavill On Which Superman Storyline Would Make A Good Film

It could be a pretty good one.

The DCEU may have a few films slated to be released soon with the upcoming Aquaman film to be released later this year along with next year’s Shazam! and Wonder-Woman 1984. However, it’s still a puzzle as to what’s going to happen to the man that started it all- Superman. Man of Steel wasn’t all that great but it wasn’t exactly horrible but the other two films with Superman involved were just… bad.

There are a lot of ways a proper Man of Steel sequel could go and with Mission: Impossible- Fallout director Christopher McQuarrie considering to helm the project, it could honestly be good. Henry Cavill on the other hand has some ideas for what they could do, revealing which Superman story-line he thinks would make a good film during a Facebook Live stream. He said:

“I’m a huge fan of Superman comic books, obviously, and we’ve covered a lot of the really good stuff from the comics, in part, in the movies, so I couldn’t necessarily say those… but I can say, one of my favorite books is Superman: For Tomorrow. That one I think — [you] could certainly draw some inspiration from that. I think it would make a really good movie.”

Superman: For Tomorrow, first published in 2004 was written by Brian Azzarello and drawn by Jim Lee. It saw Superman dealing with the fallout of The Vanishing, a mysterious event experienced a year prior where millions of people… you guessed it, vanished without a trace including Daily Planet’s Lois Lane. The story also saw appearances from Wonder-Woman and Batman.

This may be an interesting story-line to adapt and it will be pretty cool to see how Clark Kent deals with this especially with Lois Lane involved. We also have Batman and Wonder-Woman, it’ll be nice to tie the Justice League in this but let’s just keep that to a minimal. On second thought, maybe even not include them and focus on Superman which is honestly something we really need in order to finally get a good Superman film.
