Zombieland 2 Reportedly Starts Filming In January 2019

Took em long enough.

The sequel to the acclaimed Zombieland is about to get its long awaited sequel pretty soon. Released in 2009, Zombieland stars Jesse Eisenberg, Woody Harrelson, Emma Stone and Abigail Breslin as they struggle through a zombie infested landscape to find sanctuary and most important of all, Twinkies (for the sake of Harrelson’s character). Blending the genre of horror, comedy and balls to the wall action, the film is one hell of a fun flick.

A sequel was planned for a while and almost a decade later, it’s about to start production pretty damn soon. GWW reports that Zombieland Too (Yes, that’s what it will be called) will start filming on January 28th next year with the stars of the original back on board. The film will be shot in Atlanta, as with the original and some scenes will be shot in Tennessee. The report also shares some plot details that reads:

The group will face a new zombie threat as a new breed of zombie has developed. This new super-zombie type is faster, bigger, and stronger than the previous strain of zombies and harder to kill. These super-zombies have started grouping up into a horde going from city to city leaving a path of destruction behind them.

Finally, took you guys long enough. It’s going to be fun to see a good old fashion mainstream zombie flick again on the big screen with all its gory glory. With this little synopsis, it looks like it’s going to be pretty high octane and it will definitely deliver an action packed modern day classic. Hopefully, everything falls into place nicely and we wouldn’t end up with a disappointing long overdue sequel like Sin City: A Dame to Kill For or 300: Rise of an Empire. But with Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick back on board, it should be good.
