Henry Cavill Is Not Leaving The DCEU According To Manager

Well, things won’t be so different after all.

Well, after reports surfaced earlier that Henry Cavill will be leaving the DCEU due to failure to resolve contract negotiations, it looks like he’s staying put after all. For a brief moment, the news seemed to be talk of the town but it looks like Cavill is still going to be the Man of Steel. Cavill who originally signed on to do four films as Superman for Warner Bros. has had a strange time in the DCEU. Although, Cavill is relatively good in the role, the films (Man of Steel, Batman V. Superman: Dawn of Justice and Justice League) has been met with mixed to negative critical reception. It wouldn’t have been a surprise if he were to exit and for a moment, it seemed to be true. Well, it’s not.

Cavill’s manager, Dany Garcia has taken to Twitter to refute The Hollywood Reporter‘s claims that Cavill will not be playing Superman anymore for the DCEU. She also said that Warner Bros. will be providing a statement pretty soon.

Well, this is pretty good news and it looks like the DCEU won’t be hitting a “reset” button either. Things seem pretty much intact now and it’s probably a much better move to keep Cavill around since it would really be weird to see the character of Superman absent from the DCEU since he’s not only such a prominent figure there but the man to have started the whole franchise.

It’s hard to really tell what happened in the studio but we won’t be kissing him goodbye just yet. Cavill is remaining where he is and will branch on to other iconic roles such as Geralt of Rivia in Netflix’s The Witcher series. Hopefully he’ll have time for both.
