The Walking Dead’s Scott Wilson Passes Away At Age 76

Rest in peace.

It’s a sad time for fans of The Walking Dead as one of its beloved cast members who played one of the show’s best characters has unfortunately passed away. Scott Wilson who played Hershel Green in seasons 2, 3 and 4 of The Walking Dead has passed away at the age of 76.

The character of Hershel was one of the best characters in the series, playing a much needed older and wiser figure in the popular post-apocalyptic series. Wilson owned the character providing us with a great character with fantastic dramatic and thrilling moments in the series. Hershel saw his death at the hands of the Governor in season 4 in what could be one of the most emotionally gut wrenching moments in the series but still maintained himself as a fan favorite, appearing at a number of conventions.

Wilson’s rep, Dominic Mancini told TMZ that Wilson died as a result of complications from leukemia on October 6, 2018. The actor reportedly passed away peacefully at his home in Los Angeles. Walking Dead show-runner Angela Kang recently revealed at New York Comic-Con by that Scott along with former stars Sonequa Martin-Green and Jon Bernthal would be returning for season 9.

It’s a goddamn shame but all we can do is appreciate his efforts in the show. Similar to many characters in the series and many other characters in other series, Hershel has made his mark as one of the most important characters in the Golden Age of Television. Wilson has proven to have been a great actor way before his time in The Walking Dead having been in many acclaimed films such as In the Heat of the Night and The Right Stuff. Wilson will no doubt be remembered.
