Rambo 5 Officially Titled Rambo 5: Last Blood

Not the most original title but it could mean something.

It looks like the fifth installment of the long running Rambo franchise is going to have a pretty derivative albeit interesting title. The Sylvester Stallone led franchise started way back in 1982 with the classic Rambo: First Blood which is arguably the only ‘good’ film in the series. It was then followed up with Rambo: First Blood Part II and then they grew tired of blood with the next one being titled Rambo III before getting really lazy and having the fourth one simply titled, Rambo. It looks like we’re gonna get a title for the fifth one that calls back the classic first film as the film is now officially titled Rambo 5: Last Blood.

In a report from THR which also includes the addition of Paz Vega to the cast of the Stallone film points out the film’s official title which is as mentioned before, Rambo 5: Last Blood. The film will see John Rambo take on the Mexican cartels after his friend’s daughter gets kidnapped. Directed by Adrian Grunberg (Get the Gringo) with a screenplay from Stallone and Matt Cirulnick, the film looks like it may have some Sicario 2 vibes to it. Granted, this is probably gonna be far more action heavy.

As for this title, well… the Rambo films have never really been that original so it’s not really a huge surprise. Granted, this could lead fans to speculate that this could be the last time we see John Rambo on screen. Then again, if this film does really good, it probably wouldn’t. Stallone is making a return with his franchises thanks to Creed and the upcoming Creed II, maybe we’ll finally get a Rambo sequel that could rival the original.
