A Quiet Place 2: John Krasinski Is Writing The Script

Seems appropriate to have him back.

The John Krasinski directed A Quiet Place is one of the year’s best horror films and perhaps even one of the year’s best films. The premise surrounding a family’s struggle to survive a post-apocalyptic landscape inhabited by extra-terrestrial creatures that hunt by sound was both inventive and refreshing to see today and with how the film ended, there’s plenty more to be explored. A Quiet Place 2 is something that would be great to see and we know that it’s happening with a scheduled 2020 release date but that’s not it, Kransinski is back.

Speaking to THR, Kransinski revealed that he’s working on the script for the sequel. Initially, Krasinski wasn’t really big on being a part of the sequel but obviously he changed his mind. He said:

“I had this small idea for a sequel, but I didn’t think it would go anywhere. So, I said to the studio, ‘Just go do the movie with somebody else. They heard some pitches, and I told [producer] Drew [Form] about this little idea and he told me to think about it a little longer. And then I thought, ‘This might really work.’ So, I’m currently writing the sequel.”

It would only make sense to have Krasinski back at the helm but it’s still pretty unclear how the film would go in regards to whether we’ll see his wife, Emily Blunt (both in the film and well, in real life) in the sequel. There is a chance that the sequel would follow other survivors which would be pretty cool as well. Hopefully the film doesn’t go all Terminator 2 in the end like the first one.
