Charlie’s Angels Movie Reboot Release Date Pushed Back

They picked a pretty familiar date.

In case you missed the memo, there’s going to be a Charlie’s Angels reboot starring Kristen Stewart, Naomi Scott and Ella Balinska under the direction of one Elizabeth Banks. As mentioned before, the film is a reboot and would not connect to the 2000 McG film starring Cameron Diaz, Drew Barrymore and Lucy Liu. Based off the popular crime series that ran through the mid 1970s to the early 1980s, the Angels are pretty iconic themselves and this new reboot would still get some attention from audiences.

Reboots are bound to get some cash but just in case, Sony would still try to secure their chances of garnering some box-office attention. They’ve made a pretty interesting move with the release date of the film after another big film made a date change and they’re taking advantage of what that big film did.

Initially slated for a September 27, 2019 release date, the date has been pushed five weeks back to November 1, 2019 as reported by Deadline. November 1, 2019 was initially supposed to be the date that Wonder Woman 1984 was supposed to be released but that was pushed back not long ago to a 2020 release date. This doesn’t really guarantee a success for the film since Kingsman 3 and Sonic the Hedhehog are slated for November release dates but hell, why not give it a shot?

Principal photography for the film started last month and it should give them a little more time albeit not that much. This new Angels flick looks like it’ll be pretty ambitious too with the Townsend Agency going global providing services to a variety of private clients with offices and highly trained teams worldwide. This looks like it has potential to be pretty big on the action-meter so hopefully Banks knows what she’s doing. This isn’t her first time directing though having been the director for Pitch Perfect 2 which was…. okay.
