Next Captain America Could Be Black Or A Woman According To MCU Actor

There are a lot of ways this could go.

Chris Evans‘ role as Captain America in the Marvel Cinematic Universe is no doubt of one of the most integral aspects in regards to what shaped the MCU today. It’s hard to see anyone else play the character and following his tweet surrounding his last day of shooting Avengers 4, Evans more or less indicated that he’s done with the role. Some would speculate that Cap would die in the film but we don’t really know for sure since everything is being kept under wraps.

His tweet doesn’t mean that there’s no way he’ll be returning as Cap but it sure seems that way but this is Marvel so there’s plenty of ways to go at it. There could be a new Cap with the possibility of Bucky Barnes AKA the Winter Soldier taking on the reigns but it seems that it could go way different possibly in regards to ethnicity and gender according to Brock Rumlow/Crossbones actor Frank Grillo.

Grillo spoke on Larry King Now with, you guessed it-Larry King, discussing his time working in the MCU. Grillo appeared in Captain America: The Winter Soldier and Captain America: Civil War alongside Evans. When asked about who would take up the mantle as Cap next, he did express some uncertainty and despite not revealing much, he did mention some rumors flying around on the matter. He said:

“I don’t know, but there have been rumors that Captain America could be an African American, it could be a woman.”

This could go several directions as the comics have seen plenty of Captain America-esque figures taking up the mantle. Bucky Barnes is one way to go but it could also go to Sam Wilson AKA Falcon. As for a woman, it could likely be America Chavez AKA Miss America which could be a pretty cool addition it itself. We don’t know for sure but the MCU has a lot of options and this open up a lot of possibilities.
