Devil May Cry Anime Series To Be Developed By Castlevania Producer

In Adi we trust.

Film may not be doing video game adaptations a lot of justice but television sure is… or at least streaming services like Netflix are. The animated series Castlevania was one hell of show, delivering something awesome for fans of the Capcom’s video game series and general audiences alike. The Adi Shankar produced series has been renewed for a third season but it looks like there’s plans for more Capcom related property as there will be a Devil May Cry anime series coming to Netflix.

The Devil May Cry video game follows something similar to Castlevania as it follows a dude slaying demons and s–t. The hack and slash video game series has a strong fan-base with a new game on the horizon. The franchise has more plans however with Shankar behind to helm an animated series.

In an interview with IGN, Shankar dropped some big news despite being very, very brief on the matter, revealing that he’s acquired the rights to Devil May Cry. he said,

“I acquired these (Devil May Cry) rights myself so the jabronis in Hollywood don’t f*** this one up too.”

That’s what I’m talking about! Not only that, it looks like this new DMC series will be somewhat related to the Castlevania series. Shankar revealed:

“Devil May Cry will join Castlevania in what we’re now calling the bootleg multiverse.”

He kind of just left after saying that unless he stuck around to say a couple things before leaving the building but this is just damn good news. Castlevania is awesome and Devil May Cry would no doubt be awesome. He didn’t reveal much on story details but if it’s anywhere close to as good as Castlevania, that’s enough. In Adi we trust!
