Reviews For Holmes And Watson Are Astoundingly Bad

Guess we should skip this one.

Holmes and Watson starring Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly was released on Christmas and its looks like something you should probably skip. We saw the trailer for the film and although it had a couple of decent jokes from the Step Brothers duo, it didn’t really offer much of anything else. However, with these two guys on board, we can at least expect some laughs and a decent time at the cinemas right? Well, reviews aren’t pointing to that.

Reviews for Holmes and Watson are out and they’re astoundingly bad with the film currently standing at a 4 percent on Rotten Tomatoes based on 24 reviews with only one review providing a fresh rating. It was worse before as the film stood at a 0 percent at one point but it looks like one guy was willing to cut the film some slack. Well, sometimes these critics don’t seem eye-to-eye with audiences so maybe audiences would like it right? Nope, that’s low too albeit not as bad as the critics’ score with the audience score being 24%.

It’s not that much of a surprise however since the trailer had some dogs–t humor to it. Instead of providing a proper satire on the iconic Sherlock Holmes and John Watson duo, the film looks to be going balls out stupid. With the trailer filling itself up with memes and Gen-Z humor, it simply looks to be pandering to a demographic instead of actually providing a satire worthy of Arthur Conan Doyle’s iconic characters.

This is something to skip it seems and perhaps it’s better since this is when Oscar season goes full force and we see plenty of better films. Then again, maybe Holmes and Watson is just ahead of its time…… Nah, it’s probably crap.
