Captain Marvel Extended TV Spot Shows Fury’s Encounter With Carol Danvers And Her Photon Blast

Marvel Studios released a Captain Marvel sneak peek, offering fans a new look at the upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe movie.

As promised, Marvel Studios has released an extended TV spot for its highly anticipated upcoming film Captain Marvel. The new extended TV spot was released on ESPN during the College Football Playoff National Championship game between the Clemson Tigers and the Alabama Crimson Tide. The new footage offers fans the first look at Skrulls transforming into human-looking beings.

In the new TV spot, Carol Danvers aka Captain Marvel (Brie Larson) explains to Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) that Skrulls are invading Earth and that they are a race of shapeshifters. The footage shows Skrulls arriving on a beach, looking at a surfer, and trying to shifting into a form similar to that of the surfer. Carol even shows off her photon blast for Fury.

The new trailer also shows more of Jude Law’s role as a Kree warrior. The movie is set in the 1990s, decades before Thanos wiped out half of the universe’s population in Avengers: Infinity War. Judging by that movie’s mid-credits scene, Carol may be the universe’s only hope. As Nick marvels in the new trailer, “I’ve never seen anything like her.”

For a 90 second TV spot, this latest look at Captain Marvel did a good job of laying out the basic plot of the movie, which is to be expected when we’re this close to the movie being released. With a cool blend of both Earth and cosmic action, Captain Marvel definitely seems to be packing a lot of excitement and thrills.

Captain Marvel hits theaters on March 8.
