John Wick 3 – Parabellum Director Frustrated By Test Screening Reactions

As long as we get that sweet action, it should be fine.

Okay, it’s pretty obvious that there’s a ton of anticipation for John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum and after seeing the trailer a few days ago, damn! Anticipation is an understatement. Starring Keanu Reeves, Halle Berry, Ian McShane, Laurence Fishburne, Anjelica Huston, Jerome Flynn, Mark Dacascos, Said Taghmaoui and Lance Reddick among others, the film serves as the third installment in the John Wick series and will pick up from where it left of in the previous film.

We can expect something great from the film and we can definitely expect some crazy a– action. The film will be released in May but test screenings for Parabellum has already indicated a surplus amount of action on the film’s part which isn’t really a bad thing. However, director Chad Stahelski is a little frustrated by reactions from test screen audiences.

Speaking to Collider, Stahelski revealed that he had some really frustrating test screening reactions from audiences. Stahelski revealed that the reactions were relatively contradictory, saying:

“Pacing is always a really true note. There’s a lot of contradictory [notes]. ‘What’s the best thing you like about John Wick 3?’ ‘We love the action! We love the action!’ ‘What’s the [worst]?’ ‘Well, there’s just a lot of action, a lot of action.’ OK, so your best note and your worst note are the same thing? It’s a tricky one to handle. ‘We love your action, but we want you to change it. But if you change it, we may hate it.’ OK, so you love all the action? ‘Oh it’s the best action packed movie I’ve ever seen! But there’s too much.’ OK, what do you want to cut? ‘I don’t know. Good luck!'”

Well, John Wick fans f–king love the action in the films and we’d probably love the s–t out of the action in Parabellum, no problem. Some newcomers may be a little put off by the amount of action but f–k em. Granted, maybe a little more story would help but let’s be honest here, it’s John Wick! It’s all about the action.
