New Solo: A Star Wars Story Featurette Has Big Battles And Creepy Creatures

Latest featurette is titled ‘Becoming Solo’.

Ahead of the film’s release next month, Disney today released a new featurette for Solo: A Star Wars Story. Titled “Becoming Solo,” the video delves into things like Han Solo (Alden Ehrenreich) hearing Chewbacca’s real name for the first time, Han being introduced to the Millennium Falcon, and Lando Calrissian (Donald Glover) being suave. We also see Han up close with a creepy centipede-like creature in a sewer.

Also in the video, director Ron Howard talks about the film’s overall ambition; he took over for Chris Miller and Phil Lord, who both were fired last year. Additionally, actress Emilia Clarke, who plays Qi’ra, speaks about how the character Han does seemingly stupid things and gets away with them. Check out the video below.

The film looks to be distinct from many other Star Wars films. It primarily explores the galactic underworld as Han tries to make a name for himself as a criminal. Solo has long been labeled as Han’s origin story, showing viewers his backstory and how he became the cynical scoundrel we first saw on screen in 1977. Understandably so, Alden Ehrenreich’s version of the character has been the focal point and the centerpiece since promotion for the movie began, and he’s the subject of a new featurette.

Solo drops in cinemas on the 24th of May.
