Vice Trailer: Christian Bale Is Near Unrecognizable As Dick Cheney

From the director of The Big Short? Sign me up.

The new trailer for Vice starring Christian Bale is out and it looks like it’s going to be one of the year’s best films. No, it’s not a film about the company VICE, but about former Vice President Dick Cheney and the film will follow Cheney’s political rise to power to become one of the most powerful vice presidents in American history. The film stars Christian Bale who is near unrecognizable in the film (It looks like he outdid himself when it comes to actor transformations), Sam Rockwell as George W.Bush, Amy Adams as Lynee Cheney and Steve Carell as Donald Rumsfeld.

The trailer not only has Bale in what could be another Oscar worthy performance, but also has the rest of the cast giving us a hint of what to expect from these performers. Rockwell’s got Bush down and coming off an Oscar win for Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri earlier this year, we can expect nothing short of great from him. Adams and Carell also look like they’re going to be pretty interesting to watch but it’s director Adam McKay who looks like he’s going to bring his A-game to the table.

McKay who directed Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy, Step Brothers and the Oscar wining The Big Short look like he might deliver another interesting comedy drama. We see plenty of his stylish flare we saw in The Big Short in the trailer and we can expect that in the film. The Bush administration was a pretty… “interesting” time in American history so it’s going to be cool to see how the film tackles Cheney’s influential run in the political sphere.

Safe to say, we’re going to see something great here and if McKay can deliver something along the lines of The Big Short (which also starred Bale and Carell I might add), we can expect something funny, exciting and pretty messed up.
