The teaser trailer for The Lion King remake dropped and we can tell that this film is definitely going to be bloody gorgeous. Directed by The Jungle Book and Iron-Man director Jon Favreau, the film has one hell of a star-studded cast to promise something special for fans of the original 1994 animated film and newcomers alike. The film stars Donald Glover, JD McCrary, Beyonce Knowles-Carter, James Earl Jones, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Billy Eichner, Seth Rogen, John Oliver, John Kani, Florence Kasumba, Eric Andre, Keegan-Michael Key and Alfre Woodard.

This is just a teaser trailer of course so we’re not getting a whole lot just yet but we are getting a feel of how the film is going to look and it looks gorgeous. From the landscape to the creatures including the young cub Simba, the film looks near majestic. Disney is definitely pushing their animation to the limit with this one and it’s evident in this trailer. We also hear James Earl Jones over the trailer along with THAT song we sing when you’re wasted and decide to lift your friend’s cat up Lion King style.

Many people consider the original Lion King to be the greatest animated film of all time. Well, I am not ‘many people’ but I’ll have to admit, this honestly looks like it’s going to be something worthwhile to check out. It’s unclear how different this would be compared to the original or it’ll be another cash grab but as long as I see Seth Rogen’s Pumbaa and Donald Glover’s Simba sharing some herb together, it would be worth it.
