Jordan Peele’s Us Trailer Is Completely Terrifying

The Get Out director’s second movie is going to give you nightmares.

Jordan Peele has dropped a Christmas present for horror fans. The first trailer for Us pulls back the curtain on the mysterious project, revealing that the film centers on a family who is haunted by doppelganger versions of themselves.

The film follows Peele’s directorial debut Get Out, which earned the filmmaker a best original screenplay Oscar and was praised for using the horror genre as a way to examine race in America. Lupita Nyong’o and her Black Panther co-star Winston Duke lead Us as parents to two children, played by Shahadi Wright-Joseph and Evan Alex.

Set in Northern California, the film stars Lupita Nyong’o as Adelaide Wilson, a woman returning to her beachside childhood home with her husband (Black Panther’s Winston Duke) and their two children for an idyllic summer getaway with friends (played by Elisabeth Moss, Tim Heidecker, Cali Sheldon and Noelle Sheldon). Where the “monsters” in Get Out were affluent white people who saw black people as commodities, the creatures in Us are seemingly supernatural in origin.

Us opens March 15, 2019.
