Tessa Thompson Wants Creed II Director To Take On Valkyrie Movie

Maybe he can do what Ryan Coogler did with Black Panther.

Tessa Thompson has been in the acting game for a while but it’s safe to say her role as Valkyrie in Thor: Ragnarok really brought her to international stardom. The film can be considered one of the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s best films and without a doubt the best film in the Thor trilogy which can be in part due to Thompson’s performance as the alcoholic warrior.

Tessa Thomson also starred in Creed and its sequel Creed II as Bianca, Adonis Creed’s first film. The first Creed film was directed by Ryan Coogler whereas the sequel changed directors with Steven Caple Jr. on board. Creed II is considered a worthy sequel to its predecessor despite not reaching its heights. However, it looks like Thompson has a lot hope for Caple Jr. as she believes he should helm a Marvel film.

According to a tweet by Trailer Track’s Anton Volkov, Thompson suggested Caple Jr. direct a Valkyrie film during a Q&A after a screening of Creed II in London.

Ryan Coogler who took on the first Creed film eventually directed the MCU’s most acclaimed film Black Panther. Coogler has proven himself a force in both smaller-budgeted films and mega blockbusters so he’s probably got a lot of gigs lined up including Black Panther 2. As for Caple Jr., who knows? Maybe he might be able to do the same. Creed II may not be as great as its predecessor but the MCU has made fairly lesser known directors into mega stars so a Valkyrie film could be just what he needs.
